Now we're here and very excited! I'm so glad to see Monica and Michael. It was a short drive to her house. When we got there they had a beautiful garden and Monica showed us around. It is a nice house and my room is awesome. It even had presents for me.
I got two beautiful dresses and a bead kit and lots of chocolate. Then me and Callum went to sleep for 5 hours til tea time and mum had to wake us up.
We saw a squirrel when we were sitting on the side porch when I was eating Nutella. We went for a walk after tea, it was nice, we saw lots and we stopped off at the playground for while before we went home. We were surprised that it was so hot even in the evening it was so bright and hot, it was hot and bright 'til 10ish. The houses are really old, some over 150 years, and Michael said their house is 77 years old. In the olden days servants used to live in the basement and children were not allowed in the new living room and there was a couch and tv in the hallway for the children. The family who built the house were Greek and had 7 children. One day one of the boys fell off an upstairs porch into the front garden on some flowers and the mum was worried about the flowers more than the boy who could have broken a bone!
Hi Esme, how wonderful you are there. It sounds just lovely and imagine having presents waiting in your room! How very cool to see a squirel especially when you are eating nutella.
ReplyDeleteIt must be very nice to be in the warmth. We have had a big storm in Wellington which was very scary. Our neighbours lost one end of their house as it was blown away. Our other neighbour lost some boards from their house too. We are okay and so pleased we have our fireplace as we had no power for 24 hours so we could cook as well as stay nice and warm.
Hi Tara, that storm does sound really scary. If we were there we might have had to come to your house to share your fireplace. You're lucky you didn't get your house broken. It is nice to be in the warmth and we're gald our house is ok cos our house-sitter emailed and let us know. I spent all of yesterday afternoon (about 5 hours) in a swimming pool at my cousin's place, it was cool fun. They have a snake in their house (a boa constrictor). It's in a cage in the lounge. love Esme
DeleteYou are so lucky to be in the warm. It's sunny here today but very chilly. You were lucky to get presents. Was the squirrel very cute - did it have chubby cheeks?

Yes the squirrel was very cute and it did have chubby cheeks! I will try and take a photo of one but they run fast up trees. We are driving to Washington at the moment. It's a 9 hour drive and we have done 7 hours. Love Esme
